  26. I'd go further than that. Really, unless your serial device driver is
  27. seriously hindering overall system performance (e.g. on a 68000-based
  28. machine), you're much better to stick with serial.device. I've never had
  29. problems with it, unlike with a whole load of third party versions which have
  30. appeared over the years. On a reasonably fast machine these reworkings make
  31. no noticable difference anyway.
